The Evolution of Work: Everyone Moves Up
The new paradigm of work, in five principles and one table.
What POCOTES stands for
POCOTES is an acronym for Professionals Own Complete Outcomes Through Every Stage: each person owns a whole result, from the first step to the last, with agents and tools doing the execution.

Principles
Work is changing across the whole chain, not just in one role. Every level takes on more autonomy and answers for decisions and results of wider scope. AI is one of the technologies that makes this possible, but it is not the center: the center is a new way of organizing human work.
Before and after
Roles are a structure of responsibilities, not a demand for four separate people. In a small team, or in personal life, one person can hold several of them.
| Level | Traditional model | The new paradigm |
|---|---|---|
| Partner | Concentrates strategic decisions and steers the business. | Acts mainly as an advisor, offering experience, historical context, judgment and critical questioning. |
| Director | Breaks strategy down and supervises management. | Takes on formulating the strategy: knows the market, weighs opportunities and risks, and discusses paths with the partner. |
| Manager | Administers projects, schedules, teams and activities. | Manages demand, priorities, capacity and results. Decides what must be delivered and entrusts complete initiatives to the analyst. |
| Analyst | Receives and executes narrow tasks inside projects. | Owns projects or ongoing fronts end to end: plans, designs, coordinates resources and AI agents, executes, follows up and validates the delivery. |
The new chain
It does not only flow downward: results, evidence, lessons and problems flow back up to guide decisions at higher levels.
- Partneradvises with experience
- Directorformulates the strategy
- Managerdefines deliveries and expected results
- Analystowns the whole solution
- Agents and toolsexecute under coordination
Example
The manager sets the need, the priority and the expected result; the analyst organizes the project and answers for the delivery.
